What we did

This villa in Temse was a complete fit-out from A to Z. Marcotte Style took on the building works, the bespoke cabinetry, the furniture, the lighting and the curtains, right down to the radiator covers and the handles on the joinery.

Nothing was ordered in isolation and nothing was decided on site.

Hall

The entrance is laid out around a marble staircase with curved bottom steps, a white turned balustrade and beadboard wainscoting carried along the walls. The radiator cover repeats the same painted finish, its vertical slatted front and moulded top shelf built to fit the recess exactly. Stair, panelling and radiator cover were handled by one point of contact from A to Z.

Before a single panel was made, every room was set out in plans and in photorealistic 3D of the actual spaces, so materials, dimensions and colours were fixed before production started.

The living room is built around a wall of painted joinery in which the fireplace and the television sit in one line, flanked by panelled cupboards running up to the cornice. The deep buttoned corner sofa is set against floor length pinch pleat curtains, with slatted radiator covers keeping the window wall flush. Designed in house by their own interior architects, the second seating corner pairs a buttoned armchair with layered blinds and curtains so the light can be tuned through the day.

Dining room

An extending oval table with a pale washed top sits at the centre of the dining room, ringed by buttoned high back chairs and lower upholstered chairs in the same tone. A scrolled metal chandelier with fabric shades hangs above it, and the window wall is dressed in striped pinch pleat curtains over a roman blind. The whole scheme was drawn up in advance and rendered in photorealistic 3D before anything went into production.

The kitchen is planned around a long island with a dark stone worktop that runs out to a breakfast bar with tall upholstered stools. Painted cabinetry rises floor to ceiling along the back wall and returns in glazed upper units, while the range sits in a recess of small black tiles beneath a hood carried on shaped corbels. Every unit was made to measure in their own atelier, then delivered, installed and styled by the same team, with aged brass knobs used consistently across the run.

Warm oak floors run through the reception rooms and meet a dark stone worktop in the kitchen and marble on the stair treads.

Bedroom

The bedroom keeps the same painted language as the rest of the house. Slatted radiator covers with moulded top shelves run the full length of the window wall and continue as a work top, so the joinery reads as one line. Three windows are dressed in roman blinds under pinch pleat curtains, made in the Marcotte Style atelier and hung by the same team that installed the joinery.

Bathroom

The bathroom vanity is a single continuous run with two countertop basins on a dark worktop, flanked by tall cupboards that reach the cornice. The doors are finished in narrow beadboard with dark round knobs, and an open shelf column at the window end keeps everyday bottles within reach. A wide mirror spans the wall between the cupboards and reflects the daylight coming through the venetian blind.

Everything matches because it was drawn up in advance. Before a single panel was made, every room was set out in plans and in photorealistic 3D of the actual spaces, so materials, dimensions and colours were fixed before production started. That is why the painted kitchen cabinetry, the panelled fireplace wall, the marble staircase and the joinery around the radiators share one palette and one set of proportions.

You can read that harmony in the photographs. Warm oak floors run through the reception rooms and meet a dark stone worktop in the kitchen and marble on the stair treads. The greige upholstery of the chesterfield sofas and the buttoned dining chairs picks up the tone of the curtains, which were made to measure and hung by our own team. In the bathroom the same restraint returns in a bespoke vanity under a wide mirror.

From the first sketch to the final styling this was one team. Our own interior architects drew the project, our own atelier built the cabinetry and the furniture, and our own installation and styling crew delivered it. One point of contact, and one house finished as a single project.
