Villa, Knokke - Marcotte Style
Residential

Villa, Knokke

What we did

This villa near Knokke was furnished as one continuous interior rather than room by room.

Marcotte Style took care of the finishing works and the joinery as well as the furniture: the panelled boiserie around the living room, the stone fireplace surround, the solid oak staircase and the glazed panelled doors, the fitted cabinetry in the bedrooms and the vanity unit in the bathroom. On top of that came the dining table on turned white legs, the linen tufted chairs, the leather seating, the crystal chandeliers, the striped roman blinds and the floor length curtains, the persian rugs and the window and door hardware.

The approach

  • Designed in house by our interior architects
  • Photorealistic 3D before production
  • Made to measure in our own atelier
  • Delivered, installed and styled by our own team
  • One point of contact from A to Z

The entrance hall is built around a solid oak staircase, with treads and balustrade made to measure in our own atelier. Glazed panelled doors carry daylight through from the rooms beyond.

The tiled floor made way for oak boards and the staircase is now in pale oak.

Panelled boiserie runs the full width of the wall around the stone fireplace, drawn up in advance and rendered in photorealistic 3D before a single panel was cut. Leather seating and stacked oak tables keep the room low and turned toward the garden.

An oval table on turned white legs sits under a crystal chandelier. The glazed panelled door repeats the joinery language of the hall, so the two rooms read as one piece of work.

Kitchen

Cream painted in frame cabinetry meets a tiled splashback, with a peninsula that doubles as breakfast seating. Striped roman blinds temper the light without closing the room off.

Office

A freestanding limed oak desk stands beside open bookcases. It is the same oak that returns in the staircase and in the living room tables, which is what holds the ground floor together.

Bedroom

Fitted cabinetry runs the length of the wall, painted to match the joinery used elsewhere in the house. Striped bed linen keeps to the same restrained palette.

Oak returns in the dining table top, the kitchen island, the study desk and the staircase.

Bathroom

Twin basins sit on a black stone vanity above painted cabinetry built in our own workshop. A walk in shower stands alongside, and the louvred radiator cover was drawn as part of the joinery rather than added afterwards.

Everything matches because it was drawn before it was built. Plans plus photorealistic 3D of these actual rooms were made first, so the size of the table against the width of the room, the height of the chandelier above it, the stripe of the blinds against the tiled kitchen splashback and the colour of the joinery against the oak floor were all resolved on screen. Production only started once the whole house had been seen.

The material story runs on solid oak and cream painted wood. Oak returns in the dining table top, the kitchen island, the study desk and the staircase. Cream shaker cabinetry returns in the kitchen, the bedroom and the bathroom. Linen and striped cotton return in the chairs, the blinds and the bed linen. Warm neutrals with a deep persian red in the rugs hold it all together, from the living room down to the smallest handle.

One team from A to Z. Designed in house by our own interior architects, made to measure in our own atelier, then delivered, installed and styled by our own people.
