Bathroom, Brasschaat - Marcotte Style
Residential

Bathroom, Brasschaat

What we did

A bathroom in Brasschaat, rebuilt as one room rather than a set of separate fittings. Marcotte Style took care of the tiling, the bespoke oak vanity, the mirror, the shelving, the lighting and the taps, and installed the lot with its own team.

The approach

  • Designed in house by our interior architects
  • Photorealistic 3D before production
  • Made to measure in our own atelier
  • Delivered, installed and styled by our own team
  • One point of contact from A to Z

The room is built on a single warm base of travertine, on the floor, in the walk in shower and up the wall behind the hooks, with black vertical panelling to dado height and black fittings throughout. An oak washstand runs along one side with a bluestone top, two white countertop basins and an open shelf below for rolled towels. The freestanding bath stands clear of the wall on its own floor mounted tap, and the vanity, the panelling and the shelf were drawn up in advance and made to measure in our own atelier so the joints land on the tile lines.

From design to installation this was one team: our own interior architects, our own atelier, and our own fitters and stylists, with one point of contact throughout.

The palette is warm stone against black. Travertine runs across the floor and up the shower walls, the panelled wainscoting and the window blinds are black, and the oak vanity carries a honed bluestone top with two white basins on it. Every tap, bracket and radiator is in the same matt black, so the room reads as travertine and oak with a single dark line drawn through it.

None of that was decided on site. The bathroom was drawn up in advance, in plans and in photorealistic 3D of the actual space, so the tile layout, the height of the vanity, the position of the mirror on its sliding rail and the drop of the taps were all fixed before anything was ordered.

From design to installation this was one team: our own interior architects, our own atelier, and our own fitters and stylists, with one point of contact throughout.
