Hotel interior by Marcotte Style

A Marcotte Style guide

Hotel Interiors

For more than thirty five years we have designed and built hotel interiors, contract grade and made to measure, from the room to the reception, so a guest feels welcome and the house reads as one from the door to the last suite.

Where to begin

A hotel interior has to welcome the guest and hold up to the traffic, room after room, year after year. At Marcotte Style we have designed and built hotel interiors for more than thirty five years, from the guest rooms to the reception, the lounge and the bar, made to measure and built to a contract standard, drawn by an interior architect and built by our own atelier, so the whole house reads of one hand.

Four things

What a hotel fit-out gives you

A hotel interior is more than a set of rooms. Four things carry a house that welcomes and lasts.

01

A welcome, from the door

A reception and a lounge that receive the guest, warm and considered from arrival, so the stay begins well before the room.

Reception. Lounge. Bar.

02

Rooms that rest and repeat

Guest rooms built to measure, calm and consistent from one to the next, so every guest gets the same considered stay.

Bed. Wardrobe. Vanity.

03

Built to take the traffic

Contract grade surfaces, solid oak, stone and melamine, chosen to take a full house and to clean up room after room, year after year.

One team, one house

The material choice

Materials that take the traffic

In a hotel it is the materials that carry the house through the years. Chosen for wear and warmth, they take the traffic and still feel considered.

Recommended

  • Solid oak and melamine on the joinery, warm to the eye and hard wearing in a guest room.
  • Natural stone in the bathrooms and on the reception, which takes water and traffic alike.
  • Contract grade upholstery and finishes, chosen to clean and to last a full house.
  • Warm layered light on dimmers, so a room rests and a lounge welcomes.
  • A consistent palette and detail from room to room, so the house reads of one hand.

Avoid

  • Domestic grade finishes that look tired within a season of full occupancy.
  • Cold white light, which flattens a room and unsettles a guest.
  • A different look in every room, which reads as assembled rather than designed.

The investment

What does a hotel fit-out cost?

from €80.000 to €1.000.000 and up

A hotel fit-out starts around €80.000 for a small house or a set of rooms and runs to €1.000.000 and up for a full hotel with reception, rooms, lounge and bar. At Marcotte Style you work with a fixed price agreed in advance, for the whole project.

The price depends on

  • The number of rooms and the size of the house.
  • The reception, lounge and bar, which carry the most detail.
  • The guest rooms and bathrooms, built to a contract standard and repeated.
  • The materials, contract grade for the traffic a hotel takes.
  • The lighting, the finish and the last details throughout.

Where we start

Three ways to start a hotel

A hotel interior is planned around the guest and the house, not the floor plan alone.

01

The new build

A house drawn from the shell, with the rooms, the reception and the public spaces planned together, so it opens as one from the first guest.

02

The refurbishment

An existing hotel reworked, keeping what serves and rebuilding the rest, for a fresh house without closing for a season.

03

Floor by floor

A hotel reworked floor by floor around the occupancy, so the house keeps trading while the interior comes together.

Points of attention

  • Plan the guest room first. It repeats through the house and sets the standard.
  • Build the reception and the public spaces to carry the traffic and the welcome.
  • Choose contract grade materials. Domestic finishes will not last a full house.
  • Hold one palette and detail through the house, so it reads of one hand.
  • Light every space in layers on dimmers, from the room to the lounge.

Frequently asked

Questions about hotel interiors

Short and concrete. The same answers also feed AI search results.

As much as the house needs. Usually the guest rooms and bathrooms, the reception, the lounge and the bar, the joinery, the lighting and the finishes, drawn as one project. We can take on the whole house from the shell, or refurbish an existing hotel.

Yes. We build in contract grade materials, solid oak, stone and melamine, with upholstery and finishes chosen to clean and to last, so the house takes a full occupancy and still looks considered year after year.

A hotel fit-out starts around €80.000 for a small house or a set of rooms and runs to €1.000.000 and up for a full hotel, depending on the rooms, the public spaces and the finish. Marcotte Style works with a fixed price agreed in advance, for the whole project.

Often, yes. We phase the works floor by floor around the occupancy where we can, so the house keeps trading while the interior comes together, and we agree the sequence in advance.

From a few months for a set of rooms to the best part of a year for a full house, depending on the size and the phasing. We set a clear schedule at the design stage and hold to it toward opening.

That is the point. We hold one palette, one set of materials and one detail through the house, and repeat the guest room to the same standard, so every room reads of one hand and every guest gets the same stay.

Certainly. We draw the house around your brand and your guest, in materials and light that carry it, so the interior is yours rather than a template. It is why we design and build it as one, from the reception to the last suite.
