The material choice
Materials that take the traffic
In a hotel it is the materials that carry the house through the years. Chosen for wear and warmth, they take the traffic and still feel considered.
Recommended
- Solid oak and melamine on the joinery, warm to the eye and hard wearing in a guest room.
- Natural stone in the bathrooms and on the reception, which takes water and traffic alike.
- Contract grade upholstery and finishes, chosen to clean and to last a full house.
- Warm layered light on dimmers, so a room rests and a lounge welcomes.
- A consistent palette and detail from room to room, so the house reads of one hand.
Avoid
- Domestic grade finishes that look tired within a season of full occupancy.
- Cold white light, which flattens a room and unsettles a guest.
